  • The boundaries of the city, as present constituted, are as follows:

    Beginning at a concrete monument stamped Sunset Heights 1957 and set level with the ground at the southeast corner of the intersection of New York Avenue and Grove Street at the edge of the property line, said monument being located about one (1) mile west of the business district of Harrisonburg in a new development area known as Sunset Heights. This concrete monument is a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Triangulation Station known as Sunset Heights and sets on an underground station mark, unstamped, with a City of Harrisonburg bronze disk set in a square concrete post three (3) feet below the surface. The following bearings differ from the original bearings of the existing city boundaries and are based on the Virginia State Coordinate System, North Zone. The boundary connection being made at the aforesaid monument with the following coordinates: X 1,889,391.52 and Y 284,644.83 feet. thence the traverse line, S. 13 degrees 50 minutes 22 seconds W. 314.17 feet to a concrete monument set in the center of the C & W Railway, the thread of Black's Run is 93 feet east of Station 1+24 at right angles to this line; thence, the traverse line, S. 53 degrees 01 minute 32 seconds E. 406.74 feet to a concrete monument set in the City Shops Yard, 40 feet west of the thread of Black's Run, also the thread of Black's Run is 99 feet east of Station 1+47 on this line;
