§ 37. City manager; appointment; chief administrative and executive officer; eligibility of councilman.

  • The council, by a majority vote of its members at its first meeting held on or after September 1, 1952, or as soon thereafter as practicable, shall appoint a city manager, who shall be the chief administrative and executive officer of the city and have powers and perform the duties in this charter provided. No member of the council shall, during the time for which he is elected, nor within one (1) year after the expiration of his term, receive such appointment.
