§ 53. Deputies for city treasurer and commissioner of the revenue.

The city treasurer and commissioner of the revenue may each appoint one (1) or more deputies, provided that the number of said appointments and the expenses of such offices shall be subject to the approval of the council and of the state compensation board, as by law provided.
